Parc Floral
Steve Mansfield-Devine
The Parc Floral de Haute-Bretagne in Brittany, France features a number of beautiful gardens covering several hectares around an elegant château.
They include a traditional walled garden, a bamboo grove, a camellia maze and - perhaps most beautiful of all - Le Jardin du Soleil Levant, the garden of the rising sun. The section takes its inspiration from three concepts found in Japanese gardens:
- An expression of the universe, reproduced in miniature form.
- The zen garden, without the distraction of water or flowers to allow one to focus on quiet contemplation.
- The ritual garden, derived from the tea ceremony.
The photographs in this calendar - the first in a series - concentrate on the plants from all sections of the Parc Floral.
These images (and more) are also available to buy as framed or card-mounted prints, greetings cards and posters. For more information, visit our gallery at RedBubble »
